It has been about four and a half years since I owned a ST1300. Traded it for a FJR, Then got a V-Strom, then got a Versys X300 and then bought a Versys 1000LT. Had all four of these bikes at one time. Was a bit crowded in the garage. Well I finally was able to down size a bit. This past week I traded the 2015 Versys 1000LT and the 2014 V-Strom for the new upgraded with all the electronic goodies 2019 Versys 1000LT SE. I am now down to two and a half bikes. The FJR, Versys X300, and the new Versys 1000LTSE. What a great bike it is, the electronic features are too numerous to mention here. But the main item are Cruise, Heated Grips, Electronic suspension, traction control, quick shift, etc etc. It rivals the BMEs, The big KTMs and the FJR1300 Expensive... Yes but it will most likely be the last big bike I own. And as a good friend of mine say "One never sees a U-Haul at the cemetery.

Nice looking bike.
Give us your riding opinion when you get some miles on the new Versys.

Only have 45 miles on it and am still trying to figure out the menus. The bike is smarter than I. There are smart phones, and now there are smart bikes. Will post more when I can get it out and try out all the STuff that I have to learn how to operate.

Nice ride Chuck. Enjoy the ride. What brand of lift have you got there? Looks like a modified HF unit. Thanks.

Sheesh... and we’ve called Rod the bike slut!

Congrats, my friend. Nice looking machine. I might just take you up on an offer to ride that one.

Warm Regards, John

If Kawi would only shift drive that, I might be interested. Now that it has cruise control.
Chuck - it that black and white, or dark blue? Looks very nice.
How many different bikes has Rod had in the last 4.5 years?

What a sharp bike! Love that flat-gloss paint. Looking forward to some of your quality pics of nature with the bike.
Can't believe you haven't got bites on your V-Strom farkles...

Very nice Chuck. I’m glad to see Kawasaki got with the program and added the extras that we want. That should make a very nice touring bike at a reasonable price.

Nice bike, the new electronic additions sound great. Yes a shaft drive would be nice.

Put a few more miles on it then do an ST-FJR-LT SE comparo.

I think I'm on my 5th last bike now lol but it may (or may not) be true this time. We shall see

The Price is not reasonable. Same as the FJR ES. But I am getting older and I decide I would spend my kids inheritance. Beside they have and make more money than I do anyway.

The big difference is weight. Just as fast as the ST13 and the FJR13 (for me) but more nimble and lighter. The new LT SE has a better fairing and stock windshield than the org Versy 1000LT, so I am thinking weather protection in nearly as good as the FJR but not quite the coverage the ST13 had. I have come to the conclusion that the chain drive is really not a big deal or a show stopper. A lot less expensive to change sprockets and chain than repair/replace a shaft drive system. Much easier to regear if one wants. A lot easier to push through the twisties for this old man. For some reason weight has become an important aspect for this old man. Now only if I was as smart as this machine is.

Black and white. Might make the Colorado drivers get out of my way and move over. My wife has named it "The Flying Nun"

a buddy of mine just got one of those (may have been an 18 leftover, not sure), loves the bike, absolutely hates the seat, but he is a pretty large fellow. (nickname is Tank lol)
