Well, I worked all morning, removing plastic, draining the antifreeze on my 2007 ST1300. All went well. Replaced the antifreeze, did as the book says. Took time to clean the Rad.
Had coffee, went back to finish up, replace the plastic, and there was antifreeze leaking onto the floor. It seem to come from a weep hole just under the hose I had disconnected.
I have no idea why that happened now.
The Honda dealer is 50 Kms (30 mi) away. I don't know if I would be able to go that far. Is there an easy fix?

Darn.

Clean up and monitor for a while. Not to worry, it's probably just spilled coolant running down the drain channel and exiting the square drain hole.

Double check it and make sure you can see it running out of the weep hole, and not out of one of your hoses.

If it is, yes, waterpump time!

Thank You - that is exactly what I did. It leaked for at least 25 min. I topped up the rad and checked about 30 min later and saw no drips. I cleaned the drip pan and checked 20 min later and it was still dry. Started the bike and waited until the three digits on the heat gauge came up. Not a drop. I do want to get to Westoc.

Again thanks for a little assurance. I hope were both correct.

If there's one thing I hate it's plumbing, it's all ok till you spring a leak, well done for getting it sorted.

If you drained and replaced the anti freeze, it will take a while running the engine to open the stat and purge all the air from the system. You will probably have to top up the overflow tank too. I would assume that if you drained the coolant, you might have pulled the radiator and checked the stat housing for leaks? Your bike is too young to need a water pump, so I doubt that will be necessary anytime soon. However, it is 11 years old, and you might consider checking hoses this winter.

My young 10 yr old bike (bought new in 2008) has 115,016 miles on it or 185100 kms.
