For those of you that like double darkness, almost every vendor is selling the Bridgestone Battlax B45r at nearly half price and free shipping. They are marked "closeout" so I bought 3.

I use a rear BT45 on the front of my ST11. I checked my sources and the best I found was Dennis Kirk at $76 for a 110/80-18, which is the same price it's been there for a few years? Have you seen it cheaper?

I was looking at the BT45 rear tire and it seems a bit light in the load range. The BT45 front has a load range of 520

Ordered 130-70-18 priced at 125 down from 186. Free 2nd day air shipping. Check out the link. Found similar pricing drops at two other vendors.

Another reason maybe to cease the mourning for the BT-45 and move on to the BT-46. It is rated (rear) at 520 lbs., which is the same rating as the OEM fitment.

The load and speed ratings are used together... that's 520 lbs on just the that tire at a constant 130mph. Unlikely any of us will reach either of those milestones independently, much less concurrently.

And, I'm not planning to move to the BT46 until that BT45 is no longer available... the 46 is currently 2X the price of the 45. Pretty certain it's not going to get 2X the mileage. At $75 for 25k miles and good handling, I'm quite happy with the 45.

To note: the rear 110/80-18 BT45 is a 58H, which is 520 lbs, not 454 lbs. Although, I don't think 70 lbs makes a difference in this case.

As the thread stated in the beginning:

For those of you that like double darkness,
Meaning this rear tire is on our front rim. Weight capacity is well within capable range.

As the thread stated in the beginning:
Not sure of your point as load rating is independent of where it is installed. Regardless, I have followed @paulcb through enough high speed corners to say that if it was going to present a problem on the ST, Paul would have first hand knowledge ot it.
