They must be easy on the throttle and have nice smooth pavement. My T30 rear tire is shot the sides of the rear tire just shredded off and the center still has a little rubber left. My front looks new. Time for me to head back to the Darkside.
How many miles Mike?

Well I run a minimum of 80 and hit triple digits Almost daily as Well. Most all of it highway straight shots. From a stop I'm not pulling the wheel off the ground but am not the last off the line either. Tire pressures are monitored weekly. I don't know just sharing my experiences with the tire. Im definitely not dragging knees though, I wish I had more curves on the commute though! [emoji1]

I am on my second set of T30 GT's and like them a lot. Have tried most all brands with the ST1100 and now the ST1300. The T30's are quiet and run true. I use the handlebar test here in Kansas where it is flat for miles. I set the throttle lock on 80 mph (if my wife reads this... 50 mph) and gradually let go of the bars to see how straight the bike tracks and then if their is any vibration. T30's passed with flying colors smooth and straight as a string. Could run for miles and never touch the handlebars...Not so with PR3's and some others. Got 8600 miles out of rear and front still had about a fourth tread left. That included two trips to Arkansas to ride the twisties for three days each trip (beautiful riding there by the way....) which were 2800 mile round trips. Just put a fresh pair on for a upcoming trip to Colorado in the spring. Best I have found so far. I run 40 in the front and 42 in the rear. no cupping or funny wear patterns. Just my two cents worth...

Yup mine looked about the same after a bit more than 5k on the rear the front was fine so I put another rear on and now they both need to be changed before spring.

I'll be unhappy if I only get 4-5000 miles out of mine. I think I have around 1500-2000 and they still look new.

I don't really like them though. I had the rear skid unexpectedly a few times downshifting and never had that happen with any other tire I've run. This was in 40 degree and below weather.

That's pretty much what ALL my rears regardless of brand look like after that kind of mileage....thinking it's the rough roads and Neanderthal throwback right wrist......I still like the T30GT, just put another set on the day before it snowed...nice to have fresh tires for spring......ff

They sell a lot of winter specific tires here in Minnesota, but they do poorly in the summer....wonder how 100 degree heat affects them on a mc? Any experience? ff

Ooooh! I like that tread design. Should work well.
That is what I liked about it also. There are several people running the winter treads on their bikes and they work great even in hot weather. I just got back from putting on 115 miles on it on some great twisty roads. The tire works great so far. You can look at my "SPOT" link which is below my name in yellow to see the roads I just took.

Perhaps the car tire conversation could best be served by moving to the Darkside subforum.

After reflecting while im replacing this T30 this afternoon. I don't think I'm really getting more miles on this tire, it appears to me that my replacement threshold is just a Tad higher Then most normal people. Here's a pic if I can get it on here.
and another.
. Total mileage is 13,175.

13,175, he said. That is just plain dangerously nuts!
Well I was keeping a very close eye on it. I had the new tire ordered. I checked it before going to work that day and knew that second layer rubber was starting to show. Checked it before the ride home and knew it we'd getting parked until the new tire was mounted. Smart? No, but ran the last one Almost the same. Dry conditions for sure, I wouldn't push that far in wet conditions that's for sure.
