Hey All,

I need to replace my front rim on my 02 non-abs as I discovered a good divot in the edge of the rim. It may not be an issue but I'd rather not risk it. So, my question is this: can I use a front rim from a '95 bike ? I know the wheel bearings have different part numbers and I know the rim width is different. I was going to use the original tire off the 02 rim and put new bearings in it and put it on. I am just wondering if this is feasible? I'm having a hard time finding a post 96 rim.

Thanks for any help and slainte!

cheers.

You can also put an ABSII rim on the front of a standard and use the wider 120 tire with no clearance issues.
Between all the 'models', the clearances at the axles are the same and the mounting holes for the front discs are the same.
If you do get an ABSII front, just put your standard discs on it and you will be fine.
I ran that combination for years with no problems.
BTW, you don't have to remove the ABS ring either unless you want to. ;)
