Currently in the same 'shitstorm' as OP but for me worse.
It turns out my bike has a ST1100A(Y) 2000 build frame but the engine has been replaced with a 1992 build engine.
How I found out?
Simple I pulled a 1992 variant water pump off the engine.
And not knowing the engine has been replaced with a different build/year, bought a waterpump for a model 2000 :shrug1::shrug2:

So you end up with this:

Above most likely 19200-MY3-000 or 19200-MY3-010 (what exactly is the diff)

Below 19200-MAJ-G20
Oud en nieuw pomp (1).jpg

Now what to do... "destroy" a more and more rare 2000 build water pump or find (I do have an address for a new one) 1992 build pump??

Just do what I've done, drill and tap then put a new fitting on. It doesn't destroy anything. If for whatever reason you needed to blank it off again you can just buy a blanking bung and install it in place

Well to be honest your pump was a used one.
In your shoes I prob. would do the same instantly.
The (wrong) one I purchased however is brand new .
So I am strongly leaning towards buying the correct version and selling the wrong one.
