Good day, fellow sport-tourers. After 4 years and 30,000 miles on my trusty Honda ST1100, I could no longer ignore the R1150RT calling my name every time we crossed paths. So, I'll be driving 4 hours south this weekend to [hopefully] pick up what appears to be a fine previously-enjoyed model - a red one, which I understand to be the fastest color.
I'm looking forward to the Beemer world, enjoying the quality, comfort, acquiring a German accent, the bratwurst, and the many other things associated.
To those of you familiar with the R bikes, I'm looking for some input on some things to be mindful of while checking out a used 1150RT. I have a good idea from what I've read, but any additional help would be appreciated. The bike I'm going to see is an '04 with just under 40K miles, and will come with a complete set of service records. Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
-Fred
