So today I did the whole white LED conversion on the dashboard LEDs. When I got to the part of taking off the speedo and tach needles I did them a bit different and I wonder if anyone else has done it this way. I unseated the needle about half way off the needle shaft. Then I raised the needle over the lower needle stop. When you do this the need rotates ccw till it stops at a natrual resting point. I brought it back cw to the needle stop a few time and seen it always came to a natrual stop in the the same stop + or - a degree or 2. I put a piece of scotch tape one the back plate that has the numbers and marked the natural resting point with a sharpie. When I put it back together I put the needle on lined up the sharpie. Test it a few times, adjust it till it lines up with the sharpie line. Then just raise it back over the needle stop and seat the needle all the way down.
