Has anyone had any experience / knowledge with Deka batteries?
I work for Cabela's and we sell AGM batteries in a ETX14 and ETX18L. I looked online for info relating to the ST1300 and found that the 14 is suitable for the ST1100 and the GL 1500. The 18L is a bit larger and I'm not sure of the fit.
Any feedback ? Made by Deka in PA by the way

Lot's of posts on Deka. Use the search function. FYI. Part # in their catalog seems to be lifted from Yuasa, YTZ14S for 2003-2008

The dimensions/specs for their batteries are as follows: the ETX14: 12#, 220 CCA, 12 AMP, is 5.88L x 3.44W x 5.75H, the ETX15: 14#, 220 CCA, 14 AMP, is 5.25 x 3.5 x 6.56, , the ETX16: 17#, 325 CCA, is 19 AMP, 6.88 x 4 x 6.56, the ETX18L: 18#, 340 CCA, is 20 AMP, and 8.13 x 3.46 x 6.38.
The L designator may be for terminal placement which they offer on all but the 16, if I remember right and the 18 is L only. http://www.batteriesandthings.com/deka-etx14/

My Beemer battery, just out of warranty, is keeping me in the city limits and upsetting the BB (battery bug). It's on it's last leg and although pricey, I'll probably go with the Shorai Lithium. At 3# vs 14# (Deka), that's huge.
21 AMP vs 14 and 315 CCA vs 220 are big number differences, also. My beemer only weighs 450 # wet. With the battery sitting high (at usual fuel tank location) and forward, a long way from CG, I'll be able to actually feel the difference in handling with the 11 # reduction in weight.

Britman, hopefully your Deka failure was the lone lemon out of their shop in PA.
