Does anyone have a pic of the brake light wires?

Hi all,
I recently installed a hitch and am now tackling the wiring. Should have done the wiring first, it's harder/tighter with the hitch installed.
I found the signal lights fairly easily, but I am really struggling to find the brake wire.
From what I have found here, it should be under the passenger seat on the right (sitting on bike) around where the tools go. But either I'm blind, or I'm blind (actually slightly color blind). I can't find it!
Spent 3 hours on it today only to give up after battery had died while testing the signals. Picking up a new battery tomorrow.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

TIA
Mike

Rear brake light power wires are light green with a yellow tracer. The wiring harness that you are referring to runs along the right side frame rail underneath the passenger seat. It is completely taped up with black tape.

I don't know if it helps, but I tapped into my 1100's wires right at the taillight wiring plug.

The green/yellow wire can be seen at the top behind the white wire, and all tucked away.

That would explain why I couldn't find it :doh1:
Hopefully I'll have better luck tomorrow when the sun comes up.
Thanks a lot Andrew.
You're welcome.

If you prefer not to damage the wiring insulation by tapping in to a wire you can connect in to the rear brake light switch with a bit of work. STRider did a write up about it but I can't find it right now. Here is a reference to it from someone else- tapping in to rear brake light switch.

Maybe @STRider will swing by and post a link to his original instructions and connector sources.

Make sure you put some relays in for the trailer lighting. You can use conventional relays or one of the all-in-one type units.
If you don't, you may either overload your rear lighting and lose it all or if there's an issue with the trailer and a short, also lose all your rear lights.

The green/yellow wire is terminated at three places: the front switch, the rear switch, and the brake light.

You can get to your taillights by removing the rear fender. You'll need to get on your back and look up in the area that opens up.

Here, I have the taillight completely removed.

Bought a kit that comes with the relays. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks, I thought about going that route. But since I installed the hitch already (working backwards here), it would be a major PITA to remove the fender as I would have to remove the hitch as well.

That does help (providing the 1100 is the same wiring as the 1300).
Is that on the left side?
No, it's right behind the taillights, behind the plastic flap in the second pic. There is also a brake-light/turn-signal combiner module in there, because the bike has separate turn signals and the trailer doesn't.

I temporarily unplugged the connector to give me enough slack in the harness to make making the connections easier. Here is the finished product:

Sorry, I meant the location of that wire. In your 1st pic (post #4) it looks like it on the left/driver side (sitting on bike). I was under the impression that wire is on the right/passenger side.
Nice looking setup.

This shot is taken from the right side of the bike. The tail-light is to the left. The tire sticker is centered between the sides of the bike. After removing the seat, there is a plastic flap that covers the back of the tail/brake/signal sockets and the wires. The flap is folded down under the far left wires for access.

That flap is what you're looking at in the second pic, looking straight back. You can see a loop of trailer wire on the right and a little bit of it on the left where it runs down the right-side hitch support bar to the trailer connector at the bottom of the bar.

Thanks, i get it now.
The 1300 does not have that flap and things look different on the 1100. But I get the general idea.
Thank you for taking the time.
Hopefully Honda has the battery in stock and I can get this sorted tomorrow.

The point is that the wires should be individually available at the taillights.
