I'm back!
I did see a couple of ST1300s on the trip!
I got home this morning at 7AM!
To make a long story short (I'll go into detail in my trip report)
Dave wound up in the Hillsboro hospital on Thursday due to a high fever. He got out today and will be staying at Justin's until Friday when Dave's wife will come up and get him and the bike.
I left Friday morning to go down I5 to Grants Pass, then head for Crescent City to avoid the heat. I did see 97F from Grant's Pass to about 10 miles from the coast when it started going down. It was 70F when I got to my motel in Crescent City.
I left there Saturday morning, rode down 101 to 116, then I80 to 99 and arrived in Elk Grove around 4pm to have dinner with my Mom and Sisters.
I left there around 9pm to ride to Stockton, where I had a room ready. When I got to the motel, there was a REALLY LARGE motorcycle group (more like a Biker Gang) there having a gathering. After getting my room key I went to the building where my first floor room was. As I was doing that I was greated by what looked like to me were a couple of unfriendly non-biker gang members (They were NOT associated with the biker group). When I opened my room, it smelled bad, and after dropping off my jacket and tankbag, I went to the parking lot to move my bike closer to my room. By the time I parked it, I had already made up my mind, I wasn't staying there!
I grabbed my tankbag and jacket to drop my key off. When I got there she was busy informing three "ladies" that there were no rooms, when I told her, one just opened up! I handed her my key and left. As I was getting everything ready to leave, she came out and asked me why I wasn't staying. I told her, just what I said here. She said since I didn't stay, I should be able to get my money back from Booking.com.
I then left and rode the rest of the night/morning and pulled in at 7am! I did get two hours of sleep, but that's what I am running on now.
I have NEVER ridden more than about 620+ miles in a (24hr period) day before.
I rode 883 miles yesterday and this morning!
4:
The biggest advanatage of riding last night, it was a comfortable mid 80Fs for the entire ride down US99. Once I got into the mountains it cooled down, but not a whole lot.
