What is the difference between a standard st1100 and the elite version ?
There are 4 Variations in the ST family, and then there are trims. The standard model is the same throughout the model years except for an alternator. 1990-1995 the bike was supplied with a 28 amp oil cooled unit. Also in that time frame an ABS model was introduced with traction control.
In 1996 the ABSII model came out with linked brakes, larger front wheel and forks and 2 piece front fender. From that model year both the Standard and ABS models received the 40 amp air cooled alternator.
There were cosmetic changes in 1995, to body panels and handlebar surround
Then there are Police editions with the wiring and switches to deal with lights and sounds.
Trim packages for anniversary editions, and gold wheels vary from market to market.

as for elite version perhaps you are referring to models that were equipped with ABS?

Thanks for the info, I saw a st1100 with the word "Elite" on it, that's what piqued my interest in the difference, only thing I could see was the gold wheels, and obviously the Elite, everything else looked the same
