I just talked to Matt, if you are upgrading form a current Gold Valve kit we will have the parts list updated soon.

However, if you have a stock system and are wanting to upgrade directly to an adjustable kits you can call Race Tech and price the kit now!

First of all, I'm not trying to hijack your thread... :th1:

I'm a little confused...I bought these back in February. What are you working with Matt on that's different from what I have? I worked with Paul (onwer/founder), Tony (service tech), Michele and Christie (sales) but not Matt....although I did talk to a Race Tech field representative named Matt Wiley at the Cleveland IMS in January. Don't know if that's the same Matt you are talking about...

Here's what I have if you are not familiar...

  • Gold compression/rebound valves
  • RT fork springs 1.0kg/mm
    I'd recommend these though now..
RT FRK SPR 38x36x250 1.20 kg Part number#: FRSP S3825120
They didn't have these back in Feb
    .
  • Fork caps with internal connecting rods to compression/rebound adjusters

My settings are:

Lo-Speed Comp. Adjuster 2 turns of 4 turns
Rebound Adjuster 2 turns of 4 turns

Oil level 130mm.

Preload 15mm preload adjuster set at 4

Fork Height 2mm above clamps.

Fork Cap Gold Valve Kit is the best performance upgrade available for the ST1300. This Fork Cap Kit offers external compression, rebound, and preload adjustments, and includes a complete set of our Gold Valves.

Some one was checking to see how much travel the RT preload adjusters provide?

I've had them installed for a while now. I was the second person to get them from Race Tech. You love them Rob! Night and Day difference.

Pics of the RT fork caps
Looking at your pics , what version of HeliBars are you using with the RT caps. I have GenIII on my 2010, and MCL Gen II's on the 07. Looking at adding the full RT on the 07, but not sure either riser plate will work with it.

Thanks

I have the Gen3's but I think the caps would work with gen2 also...that reminds me...I need to sell my gen2 riser. ;)

To date you would have been one of three that bought the kit.

The Matt you met would be the Matt I am speaking of. That Matt, Lenny and I were the ones that started the whole process that has brought this product to fruition. I basically hassled them through the entire process and even took my bike to Corona to start it all. You can check past threads and you'll see I'm telling the truth.

I would have had the first kit, but decided to occupy my time with a divorce instead. So a few folks have the jump on me. ;)

Today Matt Wiley took apart my forks and removed these

And replaced them with these

This is not what I'd call a do it yourself kit as if you mess up drilling the factory parts you're screwed.

Those asking about the risers, here is the deal on the adjustments.

The height on the outside does not change, so if the risers clear the caps you don't need to worry about that at all.

Thanks for clearing things up Rob. You did a very good job working with Racetech. I'm very happy with the end result. :D
