Did my first hundred miler on the new (to me) bike yesterday and I am still trying to wipe the stupid smile off of my face. I am working up to longer rides to build trust in both myself and the bike and so far, both are doing well. The reason I stopped riding 10 years ago was a series of 4 back surgeries which had left me well less than a 100%, especially the strength of my left leg among other things. Getting back on the bike is the most fun I have had in years.

May the riding refresh your spirit and rejuvenate your soul.
Keep your mind in gear so that your body remains whole.
To that end, consider taking a refresher riding course such as the BRC2 offered by MSF.
And congratulations on rejoining the riding community.

I've already signed up for the BRC2, doing slow parking lot exercises, and working some of the very slow twisties remembering how to lean. I dug out an ancient DVD "Ride Like a Pro" that has been really helpful as well. I have always been a proponent of skills improvement for myself. Like Clint Eastwood once said, "A man needs to know his limitations..."

good to know that you're back on the road, hope you are loving every minute of it. 8 / 2017 was my tenth year of being back on a bike because of a pinched nerve and herniated disc in my neck. i still have issues with it ( like today ) but i stay off the bike ( S ) on those days
