Just arrived from a 3hour testride of my new Michelin Road 6.
My previous tires Pilot Road 4GT was due to retirement.
I thought the Road 6 was waaay to expensive, but then karma hit me;
Last year I helped this elderly gentleman replacing 8 windows….and then out of the blue he appears 12 months later and says he and his wife had be thinking they didn’t pay me enough; Here’s another $500.
Ordered them online (from Germany). Took 3 weeks to appear ( I live in Norway).
Mounted them myself, by use of duct tape. Quite easy.
Balanced the rims before mounting.
Impressions from first ride:
Wow!
Bike feels much much lighter (when in motion..).
Heels over much quicker than the pr4…scruffed my boots.
Excellent road grip. Have not tested them on wet roads yet.
I have never heard any noise from my previous tires, but I now think I should have….my ride suddenly got less noisy.
So far I’m happy as a clam. (Why are clams happy?)
New and old together
I use speedclamps after heating the tire in hot water for five minutes
I use plenty of tyre mounting paste both on rim and tyre, and it pops right on, only by use of knees.
I have never had a tyre with such deep grooves
From the testride
