Well I guess things have changed in almost a year's time. Old tag the pump house. new tag the chopper which "flies" real close to downtown Pensacola nowdays.

Beautiful May Day! Keeping to the theme of military aircraft.

Wow! At the eastern dividing line between Western and Northern tag areas.

Did you ride Sunny Hill Rd? Looks like some paved then a long stretch of deteriorating dirt and . . . rutting, further east on Google Streetview.

Shuey

PS: And . . . not all that far from the Bradley Country Store. :p

Nice ride made a little longer by the Five Mile Swamp Fire. I diverted down 285 to 98 and 281 north to 10 then happened upon a terrible accident at the west bank of the Blackwater River which backed up traffic eastbound on I-10. On the way home I did not ride down Sunny Hill Rd. It is open and looked rideable east of 319 but that is in the North Fl Tag area. West of 319 Sunny Hill is gated and looks abandoned at this time. I did stop at Bradley's for a sausage dog on the way home from Sunny Hill, social distancing of course and wearing the mask that I wear in public spaces. At 650 miles I appreciated the break :)

When I got on the Wing to head home the TPMS was beeping and the display was showing the rear tire at 11 psi. Rut-Ro. Picked up a nail and the darn thing went in head first! The pointy end was flush with the tire and I was able to pull it out 1.5" but could not get it out of the tire. I wanted to get going so I pushed it into the tire and plugged the hole. I was glad I found it at Bradley's and not on the roadside of US 90. Easy breezy on the asphalt parking lot of Bradley's.

New (with a clue, "Knox Hill Road")
West New, St John Church, Knox Hill Rd.jpg

Cute little church, but nothing to write home about. On the other hand, the roads to get to and away from it are fun!

Did you try the lat long numbers in the post? Myabe you were searching before I grabbed the lat long and edited the post.

Defuniak has an airport.

I rode a few of the roads in the area even up to Bama but had to turn home before it got wet out.

shuey i was looking at your spot the other day. You familiar with the Spooner oak in GA.? You rode close by..

I C&P'd the latitude and longitude right into the search bar in Google Maps and got the location faster than you can say "Hey Google".

Had a house in DeFuniak for several years and . . . never noticed that aircraft. Doubt it's new. No coord. when I first looked at your post about 20 minutes or so after you first posted it up. Thanks.

Spooner Live Oak . . . hadn't heard of it before but am looking forward to checking it out. Looks magnificent!

Energizer bunny fast! "Very near Port St. Joe area" . . . I'll say.

Haven't been through there since shortly after the hurricane. Good tag, should be interesting to see what progress has been made.

Old tag - Port St Joe Lighthouse
(Interesting that there is still so much destruction unattended to from the hurricane 2 years ago. But on a good note, Peter's Pizza just opened 3 months ago and is a fabulous place to take a break and enjoy pizza by the slice and other Italian delights).

New tag:
(Not that food is the only thing I think about, but about 8 miles north up the road is the Red Bay Market and they make one of the best hamburgers anywhere . . . it has a delightful surprising kick!)
