Are you sure?

Pilot Roads front tires come out of the mold with 5/32 of tread depth. The wear bar is 2/32 of that, leaving 3/32 of usable thread. I kind of doubt you have 2/32 to 4/32 (1/16 to 1/8") of tread left after 7,000 miles but appearances can be deceiving.

If you don't have a tread depth gauge you can use a penny to gauge tread depth. It is approximately 2/32" from the edge of the coin to the top of Abe's head.

I think I had 1/32" left to the wear bars after 6,400 miles on my set of PR's.

I used the penny method, and I think it is closer to 1/32 at the center treadwear indicator. Attached is a photo that should clear things up. ;)
