I have a Zumo 396. If I have a route set the GPS will at random times tell me that "There is light traffic on your route." Is there a way to turn this off? I have searched the 396 several times and have yet to find a way to turn this off.

Is it in Settings, Driver Assistance, Choose from various alerts in this section?

I saw those alerts but couldn't find "There is light traffic on your route." or anything that might cause this message.

I believe that is part of the 'notifications' that the Zumo gets wirelessly. If I remember what Garmin said in their manual for another GPS, the antenna for that traffic info was in the cord that powers it. If you change to a generic cord (without the antenna) you won't get that. At one point I got a cheap power cord for my Nuvi from ebay, and traffic notes disappeared. The cord did not last long - the plug literally fell apart, jettisoning the fuse, so I bought one from the Garmin outlet store - that restored my traffic notes in that Nuvi. I'm not positive that the Zumo is the same. The Nuvi's are auto gps devices, not waterproof, not able to download tracks, etc.

I think you might be right that it has to do with the traffic feature. I think I will try turning that off and see if the "There is light traffic on your route" goes away. Thanks for the idea.
