because lead-acid tech is dead. Lithium gives you:

- more cranking power
- less weight
- less maintenance, no tender needed for long-term storage
- longer lifespan, all 8 lithium batteries on my bikes are +10yrs old
- more tolerant of overcharge, over-discharge
- HONDA is using lithium batteries on their new bikes

Note watts is measurement of instantaneous power flow. Volts X Amps = Watts. So battery during cranking puts out 13v X 100a = 1300 watts.

Capacity is determined by current-flow over time. Amp X Hours = AH to certain cutoff limit. With lead-acid, you can only discharge to 1/2 of stated capacity, otherwise permanent damage occurs. So in order to compare capacity of LiFePO4 to lead-acid, you have to double lithium's capacity or divide by 1/2 lead-acid's capacity for valid comparison.
