So long old friend. You took care of me for over 8 years, and 151k miles.

Watch out for the forest rats folks. Hit one last night about 45-50mph. Fortunately did not go down.

Replacing her is going to be tough.

BTDT, but at a slower speed and I did go down. Bike wasn't totaled though. Glad you were able to keep it upright.

I "HATE" forest Rats!!!!!! Just got my truck appraised after hitting one two weeks ago.

So glad you are OK! Just think....you can buy a new ST with much lower miles for 5 to 7 K.

Sorry to hear of this but glad you are okay. 151K miles is not a bad run but I am sure there were a lot more in it.

Hope you find a new friend soon.

It is a shame however, the bike is replaceable (too many deer and no natural predators here in NJ as well). I'm happy for you in that (I assume) you weren't injured. Getting 151K out of the bike is a bonus as well.

'tis the time of year the dear get very active chasing one another! Good to hear you were not injured and sorry about the bike!

Sorry about your bike but very glad to hear you made out OK, in spite of that nasty rat!

I'll find out for sure if it's totaled monday. Went shopping today, so far the F6B and R1200rt are on the short list. Leaning to the F6B.

I read your thread title and was afraid it was an obit. Glad you are ok. Bikes are replaceable, friends are not.

Hoo boy. Well, to echo other sentiments here, the important thing is that you're OK. Truly a bummer about the bike though; good luck finding your new ride.

Saw this on facebook. Bummer for sure, but the good thing is that you are able to post about it!

Most of it looks like it will just buff out, but that many miles and replacing all of that tupperware, they will probably total it.

If there is no damage to the forks or front tire, you might want to rebuild it yourself. Just replacing the tupperware isn't too hard!

Good luck on whichever way you decide to go!

Sorry to hear that, glad you didn't go down. I don't know how I'd react if a deer ran out in front of me. Did you accelerate or brake?
