Have a trip planed to Arkansas and will be spending two nights in Harrison. We just started doing the two night thing to give us old folks time to recover. Anyway I have a day trip planned just wanted some comments or alternative suggestions. Its about 150 miles. May or may not have lunch on the road, depending on the area.

From Hwy 7 in Jasper you need to run 74 over to Mt.Judea and run 103 back over to 7 and then take 16 over to 21 down through Boxley valley to Ponca and 43 or 7 back into Harrison. All good over there in the N.W corner of the State. In Jasper you have the Ozark cafe on the square or the Low Gap cafe on 74 both great places for a bite to eat. The Buffalo river runs right through Jasper. In Boxley if you are early or late you might get to see the elk. Ken.

You have to go out east to Yellville and take 14/25 up to Peel then cross Bull Shoals Lake on the ferry. 125 to Protem and make west to loop back towards Harrison.

All great advice, especially on a sport touring bike! My parents retired from Minnesota to Yellville back in the 80's and I have been riding around the Ozarks every chance I get. Another road you might want to consider is Push Mountain Road, south of Mountain Home and west of Calico Rock. I rode it for the first time on my FJR, 26 miles, got to the end, turned around, rode it again. I got back to the starting point and turned around to ride it again, so I could continue my pre-planned route, it's THAT much fun! You can't go wrong riding anywhere in the Ozarks, just make sure your tires are near new, cuz they won't be after riding on those chip and seal surfaced roads. Jevers

I can tell.....many have covered these roads before. All great ideas. We ride all over that area-in a Group.....for the last 10+ years. Hard to go wrong w/any of the listed suggestions. ;-)

Because of previous "roads traveled" in getting to Harrison, we (well me) opted for AR-123, south of Harrison. The map below shows the route traveled.

The following are links to videos made during the ride. It was a nice ride.
