Riding a bike with 1978 features, Kickstarter only, no ABS, no traction control, no LED lights, no cruise control, a drum rear brake, a single disc up front, chain drive, on 10 year old tires and tubes, up a mountain to 8000 feet altitude, with icy wet roads, and a couple feet of snow on the ground!
And I had an absolute blast.
Still breaking her in, and now have about 300 miles on her so far.
Getting 75 mpg.
Wonderful day, felt like I was riding an old BSA or Norton.
Felt great to be back on two wheels again.
Paying for it now :rofl1:

Nice.
It's definitely Commando'esque from some angles. Picture 9197 for instance.
And yes, folks were convinced I'd never see another day on a non ABS Pan, pffffffftttttt.
Enjoy.
Upt.

That doesn't look like that new Honda 125 (?) you recently purchased. The tan one.
Glad you're riding again, whatever it is.

"How am I still alive?"

Insert cliche remarks here:

Ride to Live, Live to Ride.

A long life may be good enough but a good life is always long enough.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely, in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "Holy *****, what a ride!

Four wheels move the body, but two wheels move the soul.

It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey.

When life gets complicated, I ride.

The only time I feel truly alive is when I’m on my motorcycle.

To ride or not to ride? That is a silly question.

Two wheels, one love.

You never see a motorcycle parked outside of a psychiatrist's office.

Life is short, buy the motorcycle, have a ride, live your dreams.

You don't stop riding when you get old; you get old when you stop riding.

Riding a motorcycle is like flying. All your senses are alive.

Motorcycling is not just a hobby; it's a way of life.

I don't ride a bike to add days to my life. I ride a bike to add life to my days.

The motorcycle is a piece of art in motion.

A motorcycle can sing on the streets of a city.

Every motorcycle ride is a tiny vacation.

Life may begin at 30, but it doesn't get interesting until about 75 mph.

Riding a motorcycle is like an escape from reality.

The motorcycle is a great machine for escaping normal life.

Riding a motorcycle is like writing a beautiful story with every twist of the road.

The only good view of a thunderstorm is in your rearview mirror.

The road is calling, and I must go.

Motorcycles are the poetry of motion.

I don't ride a bike to add days to my life; I ride to add life to my days.

Motorcycles are not just machines; they are a way of life.

Life is a journey. Enjoy the ride.

The best therapy is a long ride on your motorcycle.

Sometimes it takes a whole tank full of fuel before you think straight.

Motorcycling is the best way to clear your mind and cleanse your soul.

The road is there; it will always be there. You just must decide when to take it. - Chris Humphrey

And most important:

Chrome won't get you home but no ABS, no traction control, a drum rear brake, a single disc up front, chain drive, on 10 year old tires and tubes will!

It does not even have an oil pressure light!
it has has an Oil Bleed Screw on the top of the engine, that you loosen, and allow the bike to idle for a minute, to wait and see if oil seeps out, verifying that you have oil pressure :rofl1:

I'm fine, don't worry about me.
Now, my memory is an entirely different matter altogether...
But can we agree, the bike in Post #16 looks NOTHING like that bike in your Post #1?
Regardless of color.
Thank you.
