Plus you’re assuming it’s good for another 1500 miles what is the true mileage is only 1000

Change it. Peace of mind is well worth the price of a tire. Or you will worry about it the whole trip and not have as much enjoyment. The last time I second guessed my intuition I came home with a new bike. The total cost was a lot more than a new tire. Almost ten years ago now. Long story short; left with a questionable front tire on my 2003 ST1300 returned home with a brand new tire attached to a brand new 2014 FJR1300. :biggrin:

I have the same thing you do but i'm changing my rear tire at the wear bars. If i was in your shoes i'd get that new tire before i went on your trip. I have found that trips are way more pleasurable and fun when you are not worried about your tires:biggrin:

I bought the new tire last fall thinking it would wear out in November but it lasted a lot longer than I thought already. The new tire was just popped onto the rim. My compressor in the garage is way better than my mini Slime compressor so easier to get the bead to pop on. So now to torque the wheel back on the bike.

@ChucksKLRST , sounds like that's a different problem than simply a worn tire. :rofl1:

You’re in the process of changing it anyway, but it looks like the Kymco is pretty easy on the tires. After owning for as long as you have, how do you like it/ still like it? I’ve done so many upgrades on the Silverwing I don’t think of ever letting it go, unless it gets wrecked, then I would consider the Kymco.

Love the AK. It was actually easier getting the new tire on the rim this time. Chalk it up to experience.

Just finished getting the wheel installed... Pump the front forks several times before tightening the pinch bolts. Then the tornado sirens sounded. We have 5 confirmed or indicated tornadoes 5 to 30 miles near us and all are moving right past within 3 miles of us.

No riding to scuff it up tonight I guess. :eek:
