I rented one those a couple of times for 2 - 3 weeks at a time riding in the Alps. I rode twisties, sweepers, highways, etc. I found it to be better than expected and kind of cool that you won't see yourself coming and going. The side cases have a fair bit of room and there is actually a pass through between them. It will be down on power compared to your ST1100, but there is plenty there if you're riding on your own and not with a go-fast group. With those low miles the suspension should still be good (i.e. not too tired or sagging). Other than that, it's a Honda, just gas and go.Just put a deposit on this little sweety!
Its funny you mentioned spearfish! Im picking the bike up this april and have been looking at the stoc calander. Spearfish def caught my eye! I rode iron road(?) in sturgis and all over that area. Wonderful roads and only a two day ride for me.Hey Pop Pop, congrats on your ST-700. Great little bike. Can't go wrong with that bike. I had one for about four years along with my ST1300. Hope you also come over to the NT700 forum. also run by Mellow. Great folks with lots of info about the bike. We all NT folks and ST folks get together for NatSToc every year in Spearfish SD.

You could pick it up and head to GA for a couple of days. Maybe pack some minimalist camping gear.Im not sure. Its about the cha ching. Im at 7100 ft altitude and have no interest in freezing my tuch off either.

Just cant wait to throw a leg over! You could pick it up and head to GA for a couple of days. Maybe pack some minimalist camping gear.
Yup, heard the same thing. Ill b looking into this. Another guy had combo locks installed.Pop pop I was looking at these bikes for awhile and remember something about saddlebag latches that weren't working out like they should. You may want to read up on those so you don't expel saddlebag contents far from home.
I would love to ride one of these sometime. Nice looking bike. Hope you enjoy! Should have a 200+ range, yes?
I never really worried about the mpg. I guess i should! On my first tour, 85 octane was $1.69 per gal. Today its $3.35 here in pagosa springs. Im pretty sure i got 250-300 per tank on my 1100. I havent had a v twin since my bonneville when i was a kid in college. Gonna b interesting!I think he should return 250 to 300 miles per tank depending on riding type. These things can easily return 60 mpg +.
