I-70 West of Denver..... For an Interstate, it ain't bad :)
From Denver all the way to just East of Grand Junction,
it ranks right up there with the most scenic roads in the
country. The Colorado River canyon around the Glenwood Springs
area is fantastic... Could not possibly take all the pix that I wanted to,
I would have been stopping every mile :)
Temp ranged from 44 around Vail to the low 100's at Grand Junction.

I-70

PUTT is right. That's some lovely riding country thru there. I've got friends who live at Silt, CO... about 20 mi west of Glenwood Spgs so when I get a chance to visit, I get to ride some lovely road. For an interstate with a lot of long sweepers and gentle grades thru mountains, I-25 between Santa Fe and Las Vegas, New Mexico is very very nice too.... I used to live in Las Vegas, NM and rode this one often.... lovely...

JR

Palm Springs To Golden.

Any suggestions for getting To Golden from PS besides the 10 to the 15 to the 70? I've seen some dudes take a southern deviation in UT. Whats that all about?

Utah?? Lots of National Parks in S. Utah Louie...
Lot of great roads also.
Ok Louie, you asked for it :)

Take I-15 to exit 16 in Utah take Ut 9 (that will take you through Zion National Park, you have to pay to take 9)to US 89 North to Ut 12.
go East on 12 to Ut 24
Go East on 24 to Ut 95
go South on 95 to US 191
Take US 191 North to US 491
Go South on 491 to US160 in Colorado
Go East to Durango,
Take 550 North to US 50
Go East on 50 to Co 92, turn left,
Follow 92 to Co 133
Turn right on Co 82, follow that to I-70
(That will still put you on the best part of I-70)

Only problem is, it will take you a couple days to make the trip :)

Unfortunately we did not...... There is so dang much to see that we
were choosing what to see and what to skip... The places we skipped
will be hit next year..... We could have spent 2 weeks in just Utah and
Colorado, and STILL missed some of the good spots... Did cross the high
bridge over the Colorado at Glen Canyon.. Lake is up a little....

Thanks! Will check it out.

I70 through Glenwood Canyon is GREAT! Many will not remember the old two lane road that followed the river for many, many years. JuST riding/driving through years ago it never seemed possible that they would someday have a 4-lane interSTate there.

Rod,

I remember going thru there when I was a kid... Our family took a trip
out to the West Coast on vacation (1952). We followed "old" Rt 6...
