You might want to reconsider splicing anything into that sensor, because if anything goes wrong your bike won’t start or run.
I have had to replace many of these along with damaged harnesses because folks tried to splice stuff from china that “sometimes “ worked.

Thanks Igofar, it appears as I'm both lucky and unlucky. The indicator doesn't work but my bike runs fine. Now it's just a matter of reversing what I did.

BTW, I always disconnect the battery every time I do any of this stuff, maybe it helps, maybe it doesn't but better safe(r) than sorry.
