OK St sits for 3 or 4 days. Turn on the key. Lights are on. Push the start button. Bike starts. Here is the issue.

When I hit the starter the clock resets to 1:00 and the trip meter resets itself to 0.

Does this mean my battery is getting close to the end of uts life??

Thanks for all replys

might be but I would check your connections first. sounds like a dirty ground to me. Although I am NOT a mechanic but I have stayed at more than a few Motel 6"s.

Good Luck!

After you check the connections, measure the battery voltage while you're cranking the starter. If it falls below 10, it's toast.

Also, with same meter rev her up to 4k and make sure you see at least 14.5 volts.....Tha'll tell ya the regulator and stator are good. Buddy of mine had a Yamaha that was running up to 19 volts and was cooking his battery.
