K1600GT & GTL pricing

BMW dealers received official pricing today. $26,035 for the K1600GT and $26,340 for the K1600GTL. This price is for a bike with the premium options package.

I just got a brand new Honda car for 21K. It'll be hard to justify 26K for a bike, but it does look like a sweet ride. Maybe time to start saving up.

I dunno, as they say....More will be revealed.

I think the pricing is pretty moderate, even aggressive when compared to the other Big Six motorcycle on the market and continues BMW's USA pricing model introduced with the R1000RR. Expensive yes but higher spec and higher performance than the other bike(s) in the same market niche and not all that much more expensive. The average BMW buyer is going to feel 20% more is acceptable given what he/she is getting in both hardware and exclusivity.

Only $ 305.00 diff between the GTL & GT. GTL gets top box & some other stuff. Duno doesn't sound right. Would think GTL would be alot more bucks.:biker:

Not aware of K16 prices here yet.
In Canada, a K13GT starts at $21,900 and with all options is over $26k.
A new 2010 ST13A lists at $19,999, and there is no 2011.
A GL1800AL is $29,999 and no 2011. I think Honda built out at Marysville.
A C14ABS and FJR ABS list for $20,199. Super Tenere is $16,499.

I know those bikes are a, "Technological Tour de Force", but prices like those make my '06 ST (with a current KBB trade-in value of $5,890) look very, very satisfying sitting out in the garage.

The sales manager at my nearest dealer informed me a couple months back that BMW will only be sending fully loaded models with all the options to the US, and more GT-L's than GT's. The sales manager said to expect to part with twenty-seven large plus freight, setup, taxes, registration, etc...assuming you already placed your order.

I'm not sure who they are going to sell these to. A vast majority of my friends are not looking to upgrade to something that expensive in these uncertain economic times. Most of my friends are professionals, they can easily afford it but they just *won't*.

Put another way. If I were to decide to get something different tomorrow, it would be a choice between the FJR and Connie. I would be getting more than enough performance and I can add virtually any feature the BMW's have on my own.

I believe they will sell everyone of them without too much trouble. There won't be that many - it won't be hard to find a few hundred to a thousand people willing to have the newest BMW out in their garage. They already have one or more out there now and the money isn't that big of a deal. BMW's already have an air of exclusivity to them and to have the newest and most expensive one in one's garage is a powerful draw. I know at least one person that has a deposit on one of each.

I suppose. Really I see more GS's around my neck of the woods than the sport tourers and the guys I personally know will pay any amount to own the newest model. There again, I went looking for one and wound up with a VStrom instead.

My dealer has 7 sold, delivery coming in June. Their only demo is coming in May. BMW Motorrad (worldwide) has 3,000 preorders for the GT/GTL.

My local dealer has deposits down for 25, mostly GTLs.

I don't think they'll have any issues selling... if I had to replace my C14, I'd have a serious look at the GTL before getting another C14... a serious look.
