Has anyone tried these tires on an ST1300 ? If so, please comment on performance and mileage that you experieneced.

My Michelin PR3's are near replacement, and looking for a longer mileage tire.

Looks like a cruiser tire and I didn't see the right size for the front. I wouldn't run them. I doubt they are able to handle the weight of the ST

I've run into a number of Harley guys who get huge mileage out of these tire. I'm sure that is the market for this tire.

Quit honestly, I'd be willing to slow down a bit and run a harder, less sticky tire so that I'm not changing rubber twice a season.

But I'll still ride faster than the Harleys ;-)

It is a "cruiser" tire per the Michelin ad. Not available in 170/60/17. I run them on the rear of my 11s, tho (160/70/17) and get great miles. And they can handle the weight, rated at 805 lbs at 42 PSI.

To the OP: try searching for this tire name at the top of the page,,, there's quite a bit of info on this forum. It handles speed and curves well too. But it doesn't come in the 1300 size. I've suggested to 1300 folks they might want to try the 160/70/17 size but don't know if anyone has done it.

Dredging up an old thread here... I want to put the Commander 2 on the rear of my 1100 but am curious what is the best tire for the front considering the commander will be on the rear? I want to keep stock sizes on the bike. I am leaning toward the PR3 but am open to suggestions. TIA

I run the Bridgestone 020M on the rear end of both my ST1100's. It is for the BMWLT and it goes a long ways. I got close to 14,000 miles out of the last one. I run the stock Bridgestone Exedra front tire on both and get about 16,000 miles on them. I have thought about the Commander 2 but haven't tried one. I would use the Exedra front with one of them on the rear.

Just installedthe 3rd Commander on lipSTick 10-1. Previous got 17,058, could'a gone a little more, justdown to the wear bars.
I'm runninga Bridgestone Battleax reAr on front, 130/70/17. I'll install an equivalent Michelin next time. Current one has only 13,000.

I run the Activ on the front on the suggestion of Tim Keel. I'm not a sport rider so can't speak to the extremes. They are good in the rain. I run front and rear on the Harley. Much better than the Meztler 888 in the wet.

I have had an activ and a commander in my garage since last spring. I didn't install them then do to a massive curtailing of riding since the birth of my son (newborns take up a lot of time...who knew?!) but they are slated for installation this coming spring. Glad to hear they are a good combo!

I have a Michelin commander II front size 130/70 B18 with @ 10,000 miles and is 2 mm from wear bars. I just got home from a 3000 miles trip camp riding with 2 infamous hot dawgers up in the appalachian twisties. No mercy was given to this tire, it handles great on dry and wet roads combined with a Hankook V12 for a rear. I believe this tire is a bit pricey but seems to be the best front tire I have ran so far.

I'm running a Commander II on the rear of my ST1100. Only 4K on it so far but still looks pretty new.

Anyone put a Commander II on the front of an ST1100? I believe the ST1100 front tire spec is 110/80-18 and there's a front Commander II that's 110/90-18. Thoughts?
