Made it to Pagosa Springs as planned. Was planning on another riding day tomorrow, but I’ve ridden those roads and after what I’ve been through the past few days, I’m just not excited to ride them. Therefore, I’m headed home early tomorrow morning. Gonna be a long one… 800 miles, 13 hours riding.

Some stuff from today.

Note the wood structures in the side of the cliff. They supported a water slew for gold mining…

550 was great, but the scary part (narrow roads, no guard rails, straight 500’ drop off) just south of Ouray was… scary! No pics there though. 550 further south…

And lastly, some nice bath houses along the river here in Pagosa Springs…

And, if you like Cajun,The Lost Cajun here in Pagosa is good. Not likely I’ll have any decent pics tomorrow, but we’ll see.

Looks like my spot tracker quit about half way down 141. Hmmm…

Wonderful pictures and writing. How are you enjoying the bike? It looks beautiful, although I am biased of course.

For those that do not know. Paul was tragically killed in an accident just three miles from home while returning from this ride. He flew out to California last Saturday and picked up the bike he bought from me and was riding home to Texas. I cannot express how deeply this has affected me. I can only pray that his family and friends find peace. I only just met Paul in person when he picked up the bike. We chatted on the forums quite a bit. He was a friend.
