Everyone knows that black is the fastest color.
Yep. If it ain't broke...

It's a nice looking bike. Is this BMW's first bagger?

It kinda has that 1970's vibe with the flat slow black color, tacky pin striping, various glitzy chrome accents, and the combo black/machined lines of the wheel spokes. The wheels remind me of the black/machined Honda Comstar riveted wheels of the 1970's too.

Unrelated to the 1970's look.... the cylinders are more noticeable yet (larger due to the VVT addition). I don't view that as favorable.

You gotta hand it to BMW. They aren't setting on their hands year after year hoping that their bikes are just good enough. That kind of thinking killed it for us with Honda. As some said on this forum we didn't abandon Honda. Honda abandoned us.

It immediately reminded me of my '71 R75. Retro flair with modern accoutrements..not that I'd consider a new one.

I read a report of this bike a few days ago and was quite taken with it and the pictures. That photo literally puts a different angle on it - that has a lot of potential for an expensive tip-over. Pity. I thought it might fit the bill when my ST1300 starts to need too much of my time.
Yeah, the only thing that bike would need is some bar risers and tip over bars and you are good to go. Decisions decisions....go cheap and buy an FJR1300 or go for the grey pou pon RT1250.
