Yeah, I like the Trophy but you know what I'd prefer? A Trophy 800 with shaft and more basic sport touring accoutrements (hard panniers, heated grips, power shield, power ports, ABS, cruise). Under 500 lbs. please.

I disagree with you on all valid points but I agree on the invalid one's. I'm going back to my koolaid now. What color was I drinking?
Looks like you have a choice of Pacific Blue or Lunar Silver.

A billion dollars? That's more than I have in my pocket right now.

At 5%, a 4-year note has monthly payments of $23,029,293.57. I was really hoping to keep the payment below $20,000,000. If I take it out to 5 years, they go down to $18,871,233.64.

Better check with Sheila.

Here is what my Triumph/BMW dealer friend said about pricing of the new bike:

The Trophy has to be in the 22-24,000 price range to compete with the RT.
I'm guessing, like the rest of the Triumphs, it'll price in a bit lower at
base price than the BM, but within a $100 when spec'd up the same ( heated
grips, etc) - then one year's less warranty.

Granted, this is how it will probably be in Canada. Seems our pricing is a bit unique to us in a lot of cases (not just bikes).

Man, it seems like the sport tourers have all jumped like 10K since I got mine in 05 for 12,900.

Now, the sport tourers are costing what the Goldwings/LTs used to cost (around 18 to 25K)..and the Goldwings/LTs are costing what houses used to cost to our parents! LOL

Its going to HURT the wallet something fierce when my ST is laid to rest.

Yeah, in my mind there's something out of whack when motorcycles cost more than half of what my first house cost.

Or... you could grab a Super Tenere for 13.5-ish OTD... add a couple K for farkles... BUT, it's not an ST so it won't replace it. I like mine and it does some things better than the ST but some things not as well. I'm sure the CrossTourer will be high $$$... maybe not as much as a GS but you never know.

If Honda comes out with an ST1200 based on the VFR/CrossTourer motor.... with little extras maybe they can keep the pricing down.

The C14 is still the best bang for the buck IMO.

Agree on the Connie...Who knows what the next gen FJ will be as well. As far as the ST replacement (IF IF IF) my guess is 18 to 22. Still will hurt...

I'm doing less touring these days so maybe something more sporty and cheaper w soft bags..Still LOVE the K13S but thats 18k as well!

I'd love to know...more than once I've contemplated getting one (less weight and more muffins than my ST) but have held back as it's a decade-old platform, much like some other sport tourer we all know something about.
