Hopped on ole faithful this am to come to work, and she wouldnt start. FI was throwing a 13 code (long FI light then 3 blinks), look up in the shop manual and it indicated problem with one of the injectors connections - dont recall which one at this time. Anyway, besides possible chaffed wire and dirty/corroded connector, any other suggestions to look for? Will start digging into it tonght. yoohoo :(

Possible, but she doesnt sit long enough for that to happen. Definately hope not.

Prop the tank , pull the air box off. You'll be able to see the actual injector connections . Each on has 2 wires, (white and black if I remember correctly) can only go one 1 way. Check each for corrosion, loose pins, slap some dielectric grease on them, reconnect each at a time and try to restart.

The other end of those wires run to the tail section to the ECM, so look for rubs or wear marks on the wire harness going under the tank back to the tail .

Good luck.

Happened to Hal Rumenapp between the time he got home from work one evening and the next morning. The mice had built a whole nest in there in less than 24 hours!

I think Bob jinxed me. Pulled her down tonight, little bastage chewed through the #2 and #4 wires. It had to have done it over night, cause it ran just fine yesterday. I hate mice.

Ah well, I needed to change the air filter anyway.

Thanks Bassplayer.

BTW, if anyone has problems getting the injectors out because the rubber has hardened around them, a MOJO lever works quite well in popping them out. I bent a long tire spoon trying to get it out.

No jinxing, just have heard of it happening a number of times before! :(

Yea ,the sitting time doesn,t seem like the big deal , but I think the little buggars are going there for the warmth of a recent run and parked machine , hence the quickness of attacking a warm bike ! Hate them little bastages !
