Can anyone compare the noise level of BT021 with Dunlop 220 from experience?

BigBadblue,Night and day! The BT021 are totally silent compared to the 220's. I thought my final drive was going out with the 220's they were so loud. I am REALLY re-in-love with the ST since the BT021's; nice and quiet, does not follow grooves and corners much better. Even if the BT021's turn out to wear fast, they are such a tremendous functional improvement over the 220's I would consider buying them again, they greatly improved the motorcycle, I don't remember a tire change on any motorcycle making such a difference.
42 psi on both.Wow, I am truly surprised by your noise observation, what pressures are you running?
I've gone over 5K miles on my Dunlop 220ST Sportmax tires. I like them, and they have never dissappointed me; not in the twisties, nor at 120mph, or on twisting rainy roads (I live in the Pacific NW). While they may not be the greatest tire out there, I don't know why folks like to beat up on them. I will probably not buy them again, but for the next 5 K miles, I'll enjoy them with confidence. My OEM 220s were so bad I brought the bike back in to the dealer with less than 1k miles on it thinking the final drive was going out.
I have also run different sets of Bridgestones, Michelins, Metzelers, and Avons and except for the Michelin Pilot Roads I never noticed tire noise. To my ear the Storms are quiet on the ST1300.I've had the Dunlops; Bridgestones, Metzlers, and now Avons and the Avons are far and away the better and the quieter tire of the bunch. I don't know why they would have made noise on the 1100 but I, and now my brother, have found them to be the best in all catagories. Don't know about wear yet but they're looking good at 4K, and I ride em hard....no chicken strips and scuffing on the lowwer fairing from hard cornering.
I talked to a Bridgestone factory rep at the Honda Hoot a couple of weeks ago, and I asked him the same question. He told me that the 021's are a general sport touring replacement tire for the ST. The BT020 F tires are designed specifically for the Honda ST 1300. Honda asked Bridgestone to design a tire for the ST, and the BT020 F is what they came up with. The BT021 will work, but it hasn't been tried out on the market long enough to get the feedback. ( i.e. milage, handling, etc.) When they do, Bridgestone will probably tweak the characteristics of the BT021 somewhat. If you do get the BT021, the rep said make sure you fill out the warranty card for your tires. You can get them directly from Bridgestone. Most dealerships, etc. won't furnish them unless you ask. If not, contact Bridgestone. This helps them get info needed to better develop the characteristics of the BT021. That's the information I got directly from Bridgestone. In a nutshell, if you want a SPECIFICALLY designed tire for the ST, go with the BT020 F tires. If want a more general sportouring tire that will fit the ST, go with the BT021 tires. What are the spec that tell you if the tires are acceptable to use on a ST1300? The BT020 "F" VS the 21?
This is very useful. Thank you, Yoed... If you do get the BT021, the rep said make sure you fill out the warranty card for your tires. You can get them directly from Bridgestone. Most dealerships, etc. won't furnish them unless you ask. If not, contact Bridgestone. ...
I take my words back: the 021 is significantly less noisy than the 220. My previous message was my first impression, but it gradually became silent during the break in period. It is not that the BT021 are really noisy, but that the 220 were less.
