Interested in others experience with pad replacement...I have checked stock Honda prices and they are pretty high priced....On Ebay its possible to get a full set of sintered pads for about a third of the Honda price...However that doesnt mean they are any good..Since its brakes I want to be sure I'm getting the quality as well as price..Any input appreciated...Bill

Do note that 2003~2007 use the same pads front and back while the 2008~current use a different pad on the rear caliper.
CORRECTION - The FRONT caliper changed starting in 2008, it's bigger and uses a pad about 1/4-1/2 longer. The rear pads are still identical from 2003 to present.

I stick with OEM as the rear one is a different part number and thicker than the fronts and the aftermarket ebc ones I've seen have identical thickness front and rear.

Also, in a pinch GL1800 pads will fit - this was done using a 2005 GL1800 pad set on a 2006 ST1300 so I'm assuming pre-2008 STs would work with at least 2005 GL1800 pads.

What I like about running EBC HH pads, pre-'08, is that the same pad works front or rear unlike the factory OEM pads. I try and find them on sale and then keep on hand until needed. I think I'm good for about two full sets now. :)

Here's what I did. after putting almost 30,000 miles on the OEM pads.
Hum and Hawed on what to replace them with.
Bought these first and had them kick around the shop for a bit.
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2002-2007-HONDA-ST-1300-1300A-ABS-Front-Rear-Brake-Pads-/180688008805?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a11d83665
Opened them, measured them and then, analyzed them until I was paralyzed and then put them back in the package they came in and put them back on the shelf.
Great deal for all 3 sets by the way.

Then checked the prices up here in Canada on OEM and went and bought a set of EBC pads $33 a set off of Ebay.
Took off the Honda OEM pads and went with the EBCs.
At first they felt like they bit into the rotor like no tomorrow.
After the bike sat over the winter and I bled the brakes, they don't feel so hot any more. Might of been my bleed procedure, so I'm going to bleed again in the near future.

As for the cheaper ones, thinking about putting them on and seeing what they feel like. Say run them for a month or 2 and then clean up the old EBC'ss, put them back on and then compare.
Always a nice feeling to have a fresh pair sitting on the shelf in case of an emergency.

just fitted EBC HH sintered to back and front of st1300 realy like the stopping power these give to the brakes. ordered off E Bay arrived next day. Have had these on my Triumph Thunderbird 900 since last year no problems yet just cracking good brakes.
