PeterZ crashed today

PeterZ's brother texted me a few minutes ago to say Peter crashed his bike earlier today. He is in the hospital for overnight observation of some injuries, but evidently he is mostly alright.

Helmet and jacket did their jobs and died heroes, protecting Peter.

Please keep him in your thoughts as he goes through the recovery process.

To clarify:

"mostly alright" translates to a badly broken rib and a cut on the spleen, but what was shared with me is that the spleen injury is of a sort that the doctors say generally heals itself. He's in a fair amount of pain but the fact that he was lucid enough to have his brother reach out to me (of all people!) is reassuring.

After the crash (apparently he misjudged a corner or turn) he was able to crawl back to the wreckage and call 911 on his own; he was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Syracuse.

Keep those prayers and positive vibes coming, folks.
