Price is out on the new GS

That's probably the price for a base model, and my experience with BMW is that you won't be able to get one of those. I'm not familiar with the new GS model line-up but typically there are versions at increasing price points. When I bought my RT in 2011 it was difficult to get anything other than the top, fully accessorized version. "They all come that way" and "BMW buyers want them that way" were the typical dealer lines. Still, the pricing looks to be better than I would have guessed on the GS, which is BMW's best selling model by far. They have another winner on their hands.

Yeah, I was thinking it would be a little higher than that. Closer to $20K if I were to guess but if they can get it done for under $16 that isn't too bad.
Go in a BMW dealer and try to find a base model of anything that comes in different levels. I suppose it can be done but the demographic buys the features found upline so the dealers stock those bikes.

Yeah, when I lived in Germany (mid to late 90s) I was shocked to see BMW cars with hand crank windows and 1.6l engines. You would never find any of those cars here in the US.

Guys, I have the inside scoop on the price of the bike and accessories (standard, premium and premium plus packages). Having just bought a 2011 brand new in 2011, these prices are really good... Promised that I wouldn't divulge too much, but in the next coming day or so, the cat will be out of the bag. I think they will sell a ton of these, especially based on the early reviews/feedback so far.

Starts at $15,800 for the unobtanium base model that BMW never seems to offer in the US.

Um, yep, I actually do... got the salesman's PDFs of the entire price structure plus more... he and I are friends... spent a lot of money with them i guess : ) Just made me promise I would not spill all the beans... but, by now... most of the info will be made public.

I'm waiting to see some evi-donce of the performance on the new wet head. I like wet clutches! This makes me think of Ash On Bikes.

Did they drop the Adventure version?

As per the local dealer here Adventure will not be out until the late summer early fall. As of a couple of weeks ago he had about 12 new GS pre sold. He can't keep the Adventure in stock they sell so fast.
