Just a heads up, the Progressive Suspension 32-5508 Standard Shock Tool will not fit a ST1300 shock. The apparently redesigned device has a hook that is supposed to go through the bushing at the shock's top and then pull up to compress the spring. The hook is too large to go through.
I attempted briefly to remove the bushing, but was unable to do so. In the end I rigged something up and got the spring replaced, but it was difficult and I wouldn't recommend anyone replicating what I did.
