Since September I have been commuting 250 miles per week on a Michelin Road 5gt rear and road 6 front combo. I live in OR so most of the 4k I have put on have been in the rain, sometimes temps have been in the low 30s. I am happy to report that these are some sticky and so far durable tires. It was hard to spend the money, but I am glad I did. Hope that helps someone who is hemming and hawing like I did.

I bought rd6 in the front, and rd6 GT's in the rear. I'm in Seattle and these tires are awesome! They recommend 42.5 psi, but I run mine a few psi higher. It feels less spongy. Anyways, I'd buy them again!

Had 4’s twice and pair of 5’s for one season on the ST. Had a pair 6’s on my K1600 last year. No problems. Should be good for 7000 miles or more this year.

Have you ever tried Bridgestone Battlax T31 or 32 tires? Very good tires and much less expensive that Michelin tires.
For the average rider like me, Bridgestone checks all the boxes, especially the dollar sign box.

On my ST I never seemed to get much more than 6500 to 7500 miles on T31's but the T30/T31 were my favorite ST tires. I did not try Road 5s on the ST but on my RT I get 12,000 to 13,500 miles on R5s. Three sets so far. My buddy Bernie gets no more than 7000 miles on his RT wearing T31s. The mileage difference per tire brings my cost per mile between the two brands much less.I agree on stock sizes. Glad you like your tires.

Yes, there is that. The dry and wet traction of the Road 5 and 6 is excellent. Confidence inspiring.

Rider input dictates tire longevity. I'm not aggressive and I've got about 10,000 kms on my T31's so far with lots of life yet, it looks like. I'm going to have the mileage wear out numbers on these when they're done, these are my first new tires for this bike and so far so good.
Did I mention they were affordable?
With that said, if I won the lottery and bought some Michelins, I would expect and probably get more mileage If and that's a big IF, they wore evenly. Something to consider I guess.
+1 for riding style dictating tire life. 3k miles put me to the wear bars edge to edge on a rear t31gt, front would probably make 4k but I'm going to replace both as a set. Excellent handling and good traction though.
I bought roadsmart III for spring due to a good sale, but will probably do road 6gt next unless the lops are great.
