Ken,
I too have been in contact with Avon about the lack of information available on their web site. Here is the latest response from earlier today.
"Dear Sir,
Thank you for your understanding. I have conveyed your point of view which
concurs with mine about at least showing the front as an approved fitment.
We will also be proactive in letting ST1300 owners know as soon as we have
the approved fitment and I'll ponder a way to indicate on our website that
we are working on a tire such as under development. The Azaro is also not
approved for the ST1300 (again the European stability issue at high speeds)
and that was removed from our list.
When you mention warranty I am not sure if you are talking about our road
hazard warranty or regular warranty. I have attached the road hazard info.
Other than that if something happens to a tire that shouldn't, such as a
bubble, tread separation, out of round we handle these on a case by case
basis on our 800 line taking into account mileage, tread depth, rider usage,
etc.
Avon's difficulty with this bike is trying to create a tire that can resolve
the bike's stability issues which would much better be resolved by fixing
the bike. Trying to build a tire to fix the problem is a backwards method
but since Honda built the bike that way we're stuck with it. You are right,
it is not the tires, it is the bike but we have to build a tire that will
pass the test.

I think when she makes the point about the "stability issue" not being the tire is a key point. I wish them luck on trying to solve a problem that is most likely the result of extras added to the factory bike.
