Thanks for the push in the right direction, new tires ordered and I will install them next week. The Roadtec 01s came with 7mm of tread, I am down to 3mm. I am getting 1000 miles per 1mm. Three thousand mile trip ahead, to close to call. New tires should mean no problems.
Good call. Better safe than sorry. :)

This is what my Roadtec-01 HWM rear looked like when it was removed from service at 21,000km's (13,000 miles). Photographed against a white background,, you can see the center compound produced a raised center tread, where one might normally expect a mile'd out tire to be flatted off. The softer sides of the tread face wore off more noticeably, delivering excellent grip in all conditions wet and dry. Tire pressure was always 42psi. My recent installation of a replacement Metzeler Z8 O-spec is not going well,, due to harmonic vibration. But more on that after I get a reply to my problem from Metzeler. I may well be returning to the Roadtec-01 sooner than later,,, Cat'240881240882

Well,, changed out the Z8 rear (20,00020200713_142044.jpgkms),,, for a new Roadtec-01 HWM today,,, properly mounted and computer balanced. Also replaced the outer 2 rear axle bearings,,, which were feeling a bit rough. Also replaced the cushion drive pucks. Any other Canucks out there remember the old Molson Golden commercial,,, "smooooth,, like Golson Molden" ?? That's where I am today,, and lovin' it !! Cheers,, CAt'

that a normal condition for most tires seehttps://w6rec.com/why-motorcycle-tires-scallop-or-cup/ some will give all kinds of problems to look for but if you see leaking seal or feel somethings not right then I would double check and of course normal periodic checks. I had a set of Bridgestone bt023 cupped really bad since then I ran 3 other sets of tires with very little cupping with no changes in my suspension.
