I've been looking at getting a cargo and possibly a camper for my bike. As I looked into this I found it difficult to find resources easily, and even more difficult to compare without bookmarking every place I've been. I started this thread because I thought others might benefit from what I was trying to create. To my pleasant surprise, one of the first replies was from Dale Coyner who really appears to be an authority and published author on the subject. He replied with a link to a website he created that contains everything I was trying to do with this post. Thank you Dale for your input. You just saved me a lot of headache and work.

Dale's website is www.mctrailerguide.com. At least I was on the right track. Dale's site is sponsored by Open Road Outfitters which happened to be the first place I suggested because they sell everything needed for motorcycle trailering. It's a small world.

*Open Road Outfitters has most anything you need for towing including the hitch, wiring harnesses, trailers, campers, swivel hitches, etc. Here is their address: http://www.motorcycletrailerstore.com/

Hitches
* Classic Industries out of Australia. The hitch looks exactly like that Open Road outfitters is selling. Price is less expensive but shipping is $124.
http://www.classicind.com.au/cgi-bin/newlist.cgi#
*Hitch USA - http://www.hitchusa.com/
*Custom Cruiser Chrome (mentioned in previous post) - http://www.customcruiserchrome.com/product/159-1

Trailers
*eBay - There are a lot of new and used trailers out there but they're hard to find when searching. I've found if you do a search on motorcycle "Pull behind"
that it narrows the search making it easier to find what we're looking for.
*Uni-go trailers - One wheel and leans and tracks with your bike. Requires using a Uni-Go hitch. http://www.uni-go.com/
*Road Dog - http://www.roaddogtrailers.com/trail...ack_deluxe.asp
*Aluma - Must search for dealer near you. http://www.alumaklm.com/mct_towable_...e_trailer.html
*Bushtec - Must search for dealer near you. http://www.bushtec.com/models.html
*Piggybacker - Roof top carrier on trailer. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...=21&um=1
*Instructions on how to fabricate your own trailer similar to Piggybacker above. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...3D189&um=1

Campers
*Lees-ure Lite Camper, corporate site - Most impressive in weight and quick setup, but also most expensive. http://www.leesurelite.com/
*Lees-ure Lite Camper dealer in SC - http://www.litetentcamper.com/index.htm
*Roll-A-Home - Much like Lees-ure Lite, but 70lbs heavier and slower setup. http://www.rollahome.com/index.html
*Time Out (campers and cargo) - slower setup but bigger space. http://timeouttrailers.org/cmprice.aspx
*Bunkhouse - Much like Time Out. http://www.bf-specialties.com/prices.html
*Moto Campers Forum for information - http://www.motocampers.com/?

Whatever I get, I'm going to put a swivel hitch on the trailer if it doesn't come equipped with one. Most trailer companies offer that as an option. Lean angles when riding are a factor to consider, but dropping my bike with a trailer attached and not having a swivel hitch can be catastrophic to either my bike, the hitch, the trailer, or all of the above. A swivel hitch is roughly a $150 upgrade and offers a level of protection for me and my equipment.

Hope this helps and good luck in your search :D,
Dewaine

Looks like good info. I have a Uni-go trailer/hitch that I use for solo travels and a Bushtec that I use for riding two up. I pull the Bushtec with the uni-go hitch too.

That is an awesome combination. I've your posts on some other topics because I remember seeing that you take your dog with you. That is so cool. Maybe I'll figure out how to take both my dogs with me on some adventures.

How do you make the Uni-go hitch work for both trailers, especially since both require a special hitch? Or, can you put a standard coupler on a Bushtec?

Dewaine, you might also check out www.mctrailerguide.com. It's a site I created a year or two ago that is basically a brain dump about trailering. It also includes an index to all the trailering sites I could find.

The ST hitch on our site is made by Classic Industries, the extra cost covered us when we were stocking them, thus incurring extra shipping charges, but now we just ship direct. I'll have to update those prices.

Regards,

Dale

Here are some pics Dewaine. I have to unbolt the uni-go adapter and bolt on the bushtec. It's only 4 bolts and pretty simple to swap. ;)

Here a pic with the bushtec adapter on the STeed.

Dale, THANKS for adding this. I'm very impressed with the research you've done so I edited my original post and put your link at the top of my list. What is interesting is that my top pick for places to go for trailering was Open Road Outfitters because it was such a comprehensive site.
