Gents, I just took my '03 1300 on a 450 mile day trip (225 there and 225 back) . I had my Garmin Zumo switched on and was surprized to find that an indicated speedometer reading of 120KPH was more like 112KPH over the road speed and when I ran the bike up to an indicated 120KPH on the GPS the OE speedometer was reading 130KPH. So I put the GPS at 130, the OE speedometer was saying 140KPH , which was fine by me. My bike has a Rostra electronic cruise which makes travel so much easier.

Common to all ST1300's Mike. They usually read 8% higher than actual speed.

Adding a device such as speedo-healer will correct the speedometer, but it will throw the odometer off by the same amount.
