I thought as a courtesy to our members, I’d share something I came across this morning. As some of you know, I’m almost finished totally restoring a ST1300 (rescue bike) and still looking around for parts. While I was on FB Marketplace, I stumbled across a ST1100 "Carb Rebuilder” who was offering his professional services. Several things distinctively caught my eye and raised some red flags.

What really caught my eye at first, is that he used many of MY rebuild pictures, scarfed from one of my written articles from ST-Riders. Secondly, he’s looking to get $450 for just a cleaning! Any other parts used will be an up-charge.

I messaged him to remove the plagiarized photo, which he did, then put up a random eBay photo of ST carbs to promote his business. No pic’s of his shop, tooling, address, website or workmanship. I’ve attached the conversation….

So my brothers, be careful who you send your carburetor’s to have rebuilt, or should I say “cleaned”.
