So, my wife's and daughter's ST's have OE rear shocks that are tired after 65K and 50K miles so after shopping around, I ended up placing an order for Wilber's 540 model for each. They worked out the settings based on rider weight, weight of the cases, and any other oddities (like the aux fuel tank on my wife's bike).

Well, look what arrived yesterday:

Had the rear shock replaced on my daughter's bike in about 45 minutes tonight...just need a road test. Then I'll get the wife's bike done. Her bike also needs to have the rear wheel removed but with the aux tank it's a bit of a pain so I plan to get to it this weekend.

Here they are just waiting:

Once I road test, I'll report back here...

Exciting! I recently placed an order for the Wilbers 640 for mine. Really looking forward to it. What did you decide for the front end?

They work nicely... tremendous improvement in overall stability (and cornering speeds)...

only on this model adjustment (for the varying payloads) seem quite tricky...

Which is why I went for the bell'n'whistles setup back then:

price was a tad harsh though...
But I wouldn't go without it anymore...

Oh, darn! They sent you one upside down! o_O

No plans for the front forks yet. My wife's bike had the oil done and switched to a slightly heavier grade by the prior owner. I'm unsure of my daughter's bike but I may look into Wilber's fork kits at some point in the future.

Road test is still forthcoming...I need to pull the rear wheel on this bike but I can take the daughter's bike out, hopefully tomorrow.

Took my daughter's bike out for a road test...bike rides GREAT!

Now, any interest in the old shocks? I think some send them off to be rebuilt? I'm happy to sell them for a song to get them out of the garage...already have the boxes ready...
