Codes that were thrown are still in there, just stored.
An easy way to clear them is as follows: Deploy the side stand, place the kill switch in the run position, turn the ignition key on, take your index finger and touch the starter button, DO NOT touch the throttle grip at all, let the bike idle until the fans turn on and off at least once, then press the kill switch button, then turn the key off. Your codes will now be cleared.

Just did mine last week at 84k miles and its a remarkable difference from idle through 3800 rpm. Beautifully smooth all the way with no flat spots. Used to idle really lumpily. #2 Valve was pulling much lower vacuum than the other three. Granted i also replaced all the hoses and the tee and put new plugs in so I'm not going to ascribe all the improvement on the synch but hey, if it's better it's better.

Old hoses were clean, no cracks that I could see. Tee was clean as well. Old plugs could have been reused. I was happy to see the condition of the pieces I replaced, Rosie seems to be running well. :)
