I trailered mine back from Greensboro to Wake Forest (100 miles) and used only standard tie downs. It was leaned over a bit, and the whole way home I'm sweating bullets, but had no problem with that. The fact it was the wife's birthday, I was late, and we had to postpone our dinner reservations come up each year on June 17th.

towed it home 500 miles.....

Last Mem weekend I picked up my "new" '04' in VA,
used a rented uhaul motorcycle trailer,
since the PO had installed Heli risers
I used the method of Rocket Cowboy,
tied the front wheel to the front trailer bar
to keep the bike from going for/aft,
tied the engine/tip over bars straight out
to the side of the trailer,
this set was really solid,
but for back up I tied the side luggage
clamps to the trailer tie downs.

Worked great.......

The passenger grab rails are not plastic. I've used them to trailer my bike several times now, so far without a problem. I do use a towel between the straps to protect the finish.
