Another one for the great dust bin of spent T-stats. Suspected it last season. Tore into it last night with no surprises it was stuck wide open.

Another interesting finding was the radiator cap rubber was "bonded" to the mating surface of the radiator. It peeled free, except it left some of the material on the mating surface. So, a radiator cap to go in the scrapper with the t-stat.

I'm not sure if the cap would have lifted when it was supposed to....

BTW: The coolant "appeared" to be good condition.

Planning on doing a 100% distilled water flush before refilling with new coolant. What a PITA.

Going to use Subaru Long Life (ethylene glycol based , silicate free) that I have sitting around the garage for the Forester. Thought I would mention that since no one else has stated its use in the ST1300. It looks good to me.
