If you are running the new Bridgestone T31 GT's on either the ST1100 or ST1300, please post your results here. I know they are new so it will take some time for end of life numbers to start trickling in.

How about a format of:
Year - Model - Miles when changed - Type of Riding (commuting, sporty, 2 up or solo)

I am coming to a point where I will need to make a swap for my own and I thought this would be helpful for others in research.

Just switched out my T30GTs and fitted some T31GTs. I loved the T30s, was hoping for better mileage than the BT020s. The front was certainly wearing better the rear, I guess it would have reach 5,000 - which is what I reliably get from 020s. Trouble is, I will never know. I had 1mm and a bit to the rear wear bar in the centre, and about 2mm+ on the front. But Scotland beckons, and I know only too well that they wouldn't have made the distance.

You need to add weight into the equation. It makes a heck of a lot of difference. For ball bearings they reckon the life is inversely proportional to the cube of the load that it carries. I reckon the life of a tyre would have a similar relationship to the weight. ie double the weight, decrease the life by a factor of 8 !

I ride two up, and most long trips are fully loaded, often with camping gear. We are hovering around the maximum weight limit of the bike, and I reckon that is why I get only 5,000 miles from the BT020 F rated tyres.

I will leave the weight data point as "optional" so as to remain polite. [emoji23]

Just fitted two T31's on my 98W.
These have replaced T30EVO'S with 2000 miles on them. These will be saved and were only changed because of a forthcoming 3000 to 4000 mile trip in June/July.
I suspect that the T31's will be trash on my return, only time and miles will tell. I hope they do 25,000 miles but there's two hopes there, no hope and Bob Hope.
Initial impressions are good after the 75 miles ride home, they're firm like T30's, quick to steer, very stable at speed and although a little nervous this is probably because suspension is set for two up plus luggage and I was solo for this one.
Will report back when I have more to add.

Since my last 'rear' T30 EVO GT only got 5500 miles before it was toast.....I went w/the economy factor. I purchased a Continental MotionPro for ONLY $88 from Rocky Mountain ATV. At that price mark- if it gets only 5K...I'm good. We'll see.....hope the T31's get at least 7800 miles.

Just purchased the new T31GT EVO's and they are sitting patiently in the garage ready to be used up.

I'm surprised on the great mileage I'm seeing on the Rear T30GT EVO. 9000 miles on it and it looks like I can go another 4000 miles.
Thought they wouldn't see the mileage that I saw on the BT023 GT's.
Just hope the T31's have the same great mileage.

I started the season with the T31’s. They are on a 97 ABS. 1100. I’ve put on a little over 3000miles on them. I’ve been to Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Kentucky, dipped into Tennessee. Now riding in Southern Ontario. I’ve done a bit of slab and lots of back roads with twists and turns in an aggressive manner and they don’t miss a beat. They seem to be wearing better than the 30’s I had on the season before.
Solo rider, 42/42lbs. Half the time with a top box.
the bike runs true, can easily take my hands off the bars and doesn’t pull to the right like my previous set did.
in July heading to PEI, (2000 miles) The bike will be loaded with a lot of gear. I’m anticipating that I may need to change them out when I get there, hopefully not.

Well, I finally used those pesky T31's, and what suprise. Like just about every Bridgestone I've used they are great when new and in all conditions. I previously did a similar ride on 023's and on my return at 4500 miles they were worn to buggery. Not only on the wear limit but strange wear.
So, after 4200 miles of highway, mountain passes, fast twisty major roads, hairpin infested hell, what are they like. Well, actually pretty good, I reckon they are about half worn and are in good shape. These miles are two up with luggage and speeds have been regularly 85 to 90 mph for hour after hour, literally from fuel stop to fuel stop on the highways of the EU. Ambients have been up to 100 plus. Speeds have been up to and just over 100 mph where allowed and again for sustained bursts. Stability was impeccable.
They haven't squared off either if anything the hard centre is standing slightly proud of the worn sides but it is not noticeable when riding.
I think I've just found my go-to tyre. Bridgestone have got this one spot on. It will halve my tyre bill.

I have about 5K miles on mine, still a lot of tread, but starting to square off. We shall see what shape they are in when I get to PEI on Wednesday

Hi Robert

I've had the T30 and the T30 Evo and got about 7,500km out of them. Great tire. I really like it, but not too impressed with the longevity. On Z6's now and have already purchased a set of the Avon 3D XM so we'll see how they do. If the T31 handles as well as the T30 versions, but has better longevity I'd consider them when the Avons give up the ghost. Can you let us know how many km you get out of the T31?

That I shall. I had a set of Avon’s on my 1990 when I went out to Banff, hung around Moose Jaw for 7 weeks then rode to Onstock then home. They handled well and good mileage

I’m just coming up to 7000 miles (11,500km) on my T31 battleaxe tires. The front is a GT model, the rear an ST. The front still has about half the tread left the rear is just hitting the wear bar. It’s possible I may get another 1k miles out of it. This has been the best mileage I’ve gotten out of a rear tire for this bike. They still handle well. I will probably replace the rear next week as I’m planning to do some long trips around the East coast before heading home. I’ll hold off replacing the front until I make the trip back to Ontario in September.

Just hit the wear bars on the front T31 GT. It has 11,200 miles on it (17,920kms). I use 42psi both front an back. I have a bit of cupping, but I think that’s due to my rear suspension not dialed in and unknown to me, I ran the rear tire with 36psi for 3,000 miles (long story).
I’m please with the performance of these tires, good value.

Just mount a new rear, so I am liking what I hear on this topic. Bridgestone still has the rebates on as far as I recall. That makes them a reasonable price for sure, and they seems to ride well so far.

Here's my record of BS T30 and T31 for the past few years.
99% 1-up, but half the time the cases are stuffed.
Only issue is rear tread life. I don't feel I'm hard on tires, but I don't ride like a Prius either.

Mmmm......wonder what CANADA roads are made out of. NO tire here....in the middle of the U.S. has got me over 9K miles. We'll see...when I get the T31 next tire mount.

Doug,
They are good but I know mine won't see 11000 miles! Or will they?
I typically ride 5000 to 6000 miles a year, nearly always two up with luggage. At least these tyres enable you to see out a season.

The rear made it to just over 7k miles to the wear bar. I still had some tread left in the centre of the tire. Most of the time I was fully loaded, the roads in the Maritimes do eat tires. The year before in the same area my t30’s the rear barely made it over 5k miles the front around 7k miles.

Just installed the rear T31 GT EVO this weekend. The rear T30 GT EVO that I took off had just under 14,000 miles on it.
Let's see if the T31 can top that.
