Check out RKA. Nice bags for the ST, made in California, with clear map pocket ( and an optional larger one, a must have for me ).
Seems like a good company, despite the owner being Mr. Know-it-all.

I may spring for the 10 liter. Strap version. Perfect for me.

I got a Sresk bag from Amazon, $55 much better than I expected, held on with straps, clear top cover, and can work a touchscreen thru it, with rain cover 20220726_175346.jpg

I have a Bagster tank bag for the ST1100 that came with one of the ST's in my garage. I am not doing anything with it so PM me if you're interested. Apologies for the poor quality of the pictures. My shop needs work on the overhead lights. I know nothing about the Bagsters but it seems like everything is there, just a little dusty.

The Bagster has a flap at the back to access the fuel filler, but you'll have to take just the bag off to fill. It takes little time and effort.

You dont have to completly rule out using a magnetic tank bag. I had one on hand that I wanted to re-purpose for the ST1100. I removed a small area of the foam on the underside of the tank shelter and glued on/in a couple "rare earth" magnets ( those buggers are Strong) .. Worked great and is very solid. Its best to have the bag on hand to ensure proper location of the magnets. ( be careful with the north/ south orentation of the magnets , or you may end up with a Hover bag, ask me how I know ..LOL..

I got mine to put a camel back water container inside, you can't see it in the picture but it has a small pass through in the back end of it where the water tube will be able to come out, in the ad it shows a pair of earphones the wire coming through that

The seat "front wings" tab works great for rear mounting straps, front goes around steering head20220805_144342.jpg20220805_144346.jpg

I don’t know if you have found what you are looking for yet, but if not, take a look at the link below and/or do a search on eBay for “Marsee Tank Bag” for the different sizes and styles sold by “Liquid Performance“.

I have been using Marsee bags for too many years to count. Top quality, in my opinion. Marsee stopped manufacturing these a couple of years back, and this guy must have bought their existing inventory and is now liquidating it. I would assume, when they are gone, they are gone. I have purchased two recently and am currently using the one with a plastic top, made for electronics, which I like a lot. The one in the link above is expandable, and really holds a lot for traveling. I used it on my VFR. Picture below:

Below is a picture of the one I am currently using on my RT and a link to it:

Thank you! Is that bag strapped? What do you strap it to?

Yes. Secured around the yoke that holds the handlebars and the seat supports in the rear. Straps have quick release buckles for gas up or removal.

Typical, standard, old style tank bag setup.

thanks for the advise! Bought a marcee 12 liter strap on. I pondered a magnetic one, but the strap on would take a extra second or two for someone to steal It looks like a decent bag!

You can probably remove the two front screws on the gas tank shelter, lift it up a little and run the front straps around where the bolts go.
The back straps should fit around where the back two bolts go on the gas tank shelter.

Thank you. A long term client of mine needs a unit painted before I leave, so I have a few added days here to prepare. I'll try what you are suggesting.
